About
Francesca Di Sauro is one of the most promising mezzosopranos of her generation.
Graduated with honor at Conservatorio di Napoli San Pietro a Majella and at Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, she began very soon a prestigious career.
Winner of important international vocal competition, like the 69th Concorso As. Li. Co. as Carmen, at 25 years old she debuts as Santuzza, under the baton of Maestro Riccardo Muti. This was only the first of many collaborations with Maestro Muti, with a repertoire that goes from Mozart to Mascagni.
She already sang on important stages like Teatro alla Scala, Arena di Verona, Teatro Colòn in Buenos Aires, Teatro Regio di Torino, Oper im Steinbruch, Belcanto Opera Festival in Wildbad and many others.
With a repertoire that goes from Baroque to ‘900, she has a versatility that allows her to range across the more tipically mezzosoprano repertoire, without giving up some forays into the soprano one.
She sang roles as Carmen, Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Isabella (L’italiana in Algeri), Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana), Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Fenena (Nabucco), Despina (Così fan tutte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Serpina (La serva padrona), Vespetta (Pimpinone ovvero le nozze infelici).
She also played as actress and singer in the short film “Tempo ritrovato” produced by Fondazione lirica delle Marche.
